VIU’s Business Programs Department offers graduate and undergraduate business programs to educate its students to become successful, principled leaders with a global perspective. The MBA program includes instruction in foundation core business courses, a set of required business courses to provide depth, and electives. The BBA program includes a liberal arts foundation, a core curriculum in business, and electives. Students acquire solid understanding of business subject matter and the skills necessary to make them competitive in tomorrow’s market. Both undergraduate and MBA curricula provide an understanding of perspectives that form the context for business. The curricula include: - Ethical and global issues:
- The influence of political, social, legal and regulatory, environmental, and technological issues; and
- The impact of demographic diversity on organizations.
The faculty of the Business Programs Department is committed to program-level assessment to improve student learning through curriculum development, modification, and revision and to enhance the educational experience of its students. Program-level assessment processes allow faculty and administration to measure the achievement of student learning of program goals established by faculty and to provide in-process feedback for continuous improvement purposes. The Business Programs Department’s overall goal is to provide a quality business education that complements university curricula and conforms to the highest standards of the American education system. Degree Requirements .
